We look forward to seeing your athlete(s) on deck for tryouts! We will try to check all USAWP memberships prior to the first day of tryouts, but if you register at the last minute, please remember to bring proof of your athlete's current USAWP membership. It can be on your phone or a hard copy. Arriving early (10-15 minutes) is encouraged.
We encourage you to save or print out this message which contains important information regarding the tryout/assessment process.
As a friendly reminder:
1. Only registered and paid athletes will be allowed to try out and practice. There will be a check-in table at the entrance to the pool. Please stop to check in and confirm that you are on the list.
2. The tryout/assessment period will take place from Monday, December 1 through Thursday, December 11. During this time, Del Mar WPC coaches will evaluate each athlete's skill level. This is the official assessment period for the 2025-2026 Winter Session.
3. If the athlete is invited to join one of our Del Mar Water Polo Club teams, a formal registration link will be sent via email to the athlete's parents; and the remaining registration fee will be charged: $725. Team practices will commence on December 15.
4. The registration fee must be paid BEFORE the first practice or the athlete should expect to sit out of practices until the fee is paid.
Note: an athlete's assignment to a team will be based on several factors, including but not limited to: prior experience, attitude, effort and current skill level. Team placement is not guaranteed.
All practices during the tryout/assessment period will take place at Cathedral Catholic High School's pool.
Monday-Thursday 12/1-4 and Monday-Thursday 12/8-11, 2025 (4 days/week)
16u/18u Boys: 7:00-9:00 pm
Teams will be announced on Friday/Saturday, December 12-13, depending on the coach. Registration links will be sent to parents/athletes who are placed on a team.
